Design Process

During her design process, Lisa likes to get an insight into her client’s lifestyle and personalise the design to suit.

For this project, the stud wall separating the kitchen from the dining room was removed creating a wonderful open space and allowing the kitchen units to extend through into the newly formed space. Exclusive designer appliances from the Gorenje Pininfarina Range were incorporated including a fridge with a viewing panel. Electric underfloor heating was installed to keep the new room cosy and it enabled us to remove unsightly radiators.

An integrated iPod system was a must - we installed a fantastic Busch system which is simple but very effective. Lisa also added a full LED lighting system which included dimmable mood lights and colour changing lights to the underside of the breakfast bar.

The remit for this project was to create a far more functional and usable living space whilst also producing a unique kitchen design that has a real wow factor.

Before the works were carried out, the dining room was rarely used with the client preferring to spend time in the kitchen relaxing at the breakfast bar. Although the existing kitchen was immaculate it was in desperate need of bringing up-to-date.

A niche with a mirrored back and LED light gave the new kitchen a wonderful focal point. The look was completed by using Encore solid work surfaces which are easy to maintain, practical and also create a luxurious feel with its shimmer-effect finish.
